Bodegas Jalon
The Jalon valley lies about 7 kms from Calp which is accessed from the N332 on entering the town of Benissa.
Here you will find Vineyards and Orchards and an oasis of fertile agricultural land, only 20 minutes inland from the sea. This is superb wine country. As a result of the climate and soil type you will discover award-winning reds, whites,and rosés. Try the cava and mistelathe localsweet wine made from the Muscatel grape. Bodega, Museum and Restaurant Maserof
Waiting at Bodega Museum and Restaurant Maserof is a treat for all visitors.
There is a museum and a fine restaurant besides the tasting of the wine.
Being situated only 5 minutes drive from the village of Jalon. High in the Sierra Bernia hills, Maserof attracts many wine tasters.
The Maserof farmhouse, built in the seventeenth century, is crammed with relics and antiques.
Hence it’s attraction as a museum. However, most importantly the fine wines of Maserof are still produced using traditional methods
The best time to visit is September when you may be able to see the grapes being gathered. In addition you can take part in the treading of the grapes.

Bodega del Garroferal
La Bodega del Garroferal is a great place to visit, they have wine samples you can try before you buy. From Jalon continue your wine tasting journey towards Alcalali, Parcent and Murla – just ten minutes’ drive inland.
Set in the countryside in a charming location between these three villages is La Bodega del Garroferal. You will be greeted warmly at the Bodega and of course, tasting the wines is always a real treat.
Some fantastic local wine at great prices. Staff are very helpful and speak good English. Some days in September you get the local farmers bringing their grapes after the harvest.
Peter Arnold and his wife Helen established the Bodega in 2002 when they relocated to Spain from South Africa where Peter had an illustrious career as the winemaker at Cape Chamonix,
Here he produced wines that won both national and international awards, (especially his Chardonnay)
There is a market held on the car park opposite selling fresh local produce at very cheap prices. Dont go to the local Mas Y Mas ( More & More) Super market. keep the local farmers in business or they may have to sell their land to developers .
The Jalon Valley is very beautiful with the four typical Spanish villages of Murla, Parcent , Orba and Jalon (Xalo)
